Board Names First Chief Impact Officer.

Missy Bienvenu Andrade Becomes Chief Impact Officer

The Boys & Girls Clubs in Louisiana (BGCLA) are happy to announce that the Board of Directors have named Missy Bienvenu Andrade as the first Chief Impact Officer of the organization. BGCLA conducted its search process with the assistance of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Andrade hails from Lafayette and has served as CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs in Acadiana over the past three years, overseeing operations in St. Landry, Iberia, Vermilion, and Lafayette parishes. During her tenure, she managed a $2 million budget and expanded to a 6th club site to serve nearly 5,000 youth in her region. Andrade led the expansion into two new regions as well. In January, Andrade’s team opened the Cheniere Energy Club in Lake Charles, a community desperate for the programs offered by Boys & Girls Clubs after seeing multiple hurricanes in the past year amid the pandemic. A club site in Natchitoches, LA is set to open early next year.  Prior to CEO role at Boys & Girls Clubs in Acadiana, Andrade served as vice president of investor relations and development at One Acadiana.

Andrade acknowledged the support she has received from the Board and staff at Boys & Girls Clubs in Acadiana and is eager to continue to serve kids in Louisiana at a state-wide level. “I am elated to step into the Louisiana Chief Impact Officer role after three incredible years with Boys & Girls Clubs in Acadiana,” said Andrade.  “I am especially grateful for my Board of Directors and the BGC Acadiana Team for their dedication and commitment to our Clubs and Club families during a transformational time in our organization’s history. Young people across our state deserve access to safe, high quality after-school and summer programs and I look forward to working with our Boys & Girls Clubs in Louisiana Board, regional Club Boards, and local organizations to support those efforts and to expand our reach and impact.”

An executive search for Andrade’s replacement is underway and she will assist in the transition to new leadership over the next 6 weeks.

As Chief Impact Officer, Andrade’s is responsible for leading the organization to carry out the Boys & Girls Clubs mission state-wide and grow the reach and influence of the Boys & Girls Clubs in Louisiana. Her role will include fundraising and marketing to raise awareness of the work and mission of the organization.  Additionally, Andrade will serve on the Executive Committee for each Boys & Girls Clubs chapter.

BGCLA Chairman Brach Myers is confident that Andrade is the right pick to lead the newly formed statewide organization. Myers said, “Missy is an incredible leader that is passionate about serving the children who need us most in Louisiana.  She brings a proven track record of aligning the goals of family foundations, corporations, and individual donors, with the mission and vision of Boys & Girls Clubs serving children throughout our State.  Missy will work alongside local Boys & Girls Clubs organizations and their board of directors to develop new strategic alliances within the communities served.  It is the strategic vision of Boys and Girls Clubs in Louisiana to expand the reach of youth programming to more children in Louisiana that need positive mentors and a safe place to grow and learn after school and during the summer.  With a leader as passionate about serving children as Missy, our vision is becoming reality.”

About Boys & Girls Club in Louisiana:

In August of 2019, Boys & Girls Clubs in Louisiana (BGCLA) held its first board meeting with members from all across the state and Chairman Brach Myers at the helm.  Myers had envisioned a statewide organization that could support the individual clubs currently in Louisiana and improve upon and expand impactful youth programs, both after school and during the summer, to the areas in our State with the greatest needs.  These programs provide mentorship, nutrition, academic support, emotional support, and active lifestyle support.

The organization’s mission statement is to expand upon the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs to promote the social welfare of youth in Louisiana by developing the foundation to increase resources, identify shared services and strengthen brand awareness, while holding ourselves accountable to the leaders and investors that provide resources to the mission.

Currently the BGCLA supports 21 clubs with over 19,000 members.
